DBT Aero is thrilled to announce the addition of Jamie Adams to our team as our new advisor. Jamie is currently serving as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of ExoTerra Resource, founded in 2011, a Space Solar Electric Propulsion Company providing affordable space infrastructure systems. Prior to joining ExoTerra, Jamie served as the CTO and Board of Directors member of Sidus Space, a public company (NASDAQ: SIDU), where he oversaw the development of a revolutionary satellite incorporating 3D printing that was deployed to space in March 2024, bringing a number of new technologies into the low earth orbit (LEO) realm advancing space as a service (SaaS) offerings. Prior to that, Jamie was the Autonomous Systems Site Lead/General Manager of Missiles and Fire Control at Lockheed Martin, bringing an extensive background in strategic research and development to our organization. His impressive career, with previous roles at NASA and Boeing, underscores his expertise and leadership in the aerospace industry.
A Distinguished Career in Aerospace and Technology
Jamie has held several additional significant positions throughout his career:
- NASA Johnson Space Center (JSC): As the Associate Division Chief of Software, Robotics, and Simulation Engineering Division, Jamie managed technical execution for numerous contracts supporting various human spaceflight programs. He also led NASA’s Human Robotic Interface Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) program, initiating projects with NASA Headquarters and the Department of Defense to standardize software and simulation production for government contracts. Jamie’s role also included serving as Deputy Chief of the Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle (MPCV) Orion, Avionics, and Software group, overseeing all aspects of Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company contract activities for this group.
- The Boeing Company: Starting his career at Boeing in 1986, Jamie eventually became the overall program Hardware/Software Integration Manager for all flight systems’ hardware and software design, development, integration, verification, and validation. In 2002, he was appointed Director of Modeling, Simulation, and Integration for the Future Combat Systems (FCS) program.
Academic Contributions and Publications
Jamie holds a bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio. He is also a member of the Kansas State University Advisory Board for the Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning advanced degree program. His research on distributed simulation for the verification and validation of complex hardware/software systems is widely recognized.
